Zehnder is a well established brand across parts of the world where the house building standards are very high. Terms such as Passive House have been in common parlance across Northern Europe for decades. Yet, in the UK, few people build new homes outside of the minimum required building regulations.
They wanted a way to explain new technologies, and scientific concepts, in a really simplistic way to make people easily understand the myriad benefits of investing in these high performance products. We were excited to get the opportunity to explore ways to achieve this.
The product range already existed, and marketing materials were available from the German team. Yet the UK contractors, and the Zehnder UK sales team, were having trouble using the marketing materials to make sense of technology that was in its infancy in the UK.
Looking over these materials, we quickly established that they only spoke to people that had years of experience with the technology. They were all about the ‘what’ and not about the ‘why’ which is unhelpful if you need convincing to move to something new.
We decided that, as well as rewriting the copy in jargon free language, the marketing materials would also benefit from illustration.
We created a brochure, guide, or web page for each product in the range. Each needed to tell a story so the technology would be more interesting to learn about. Anything technical or scientific that required explanation was portrayed using simplistic but attractive infographics. Relevant statistics and studies were researched and included in order to back up claims about key benefits.
The new marketing materials all proved to be incredibly successful. The UK sales team liked having something tangible to refer to during meetings so they could have more meaningful conversations. Furthermore, the biggest compliment to our work was that Zehnder marketing teams from around the world were asking for access to the new materials over the ones created by the central marketing team.
Zehnder provides integrated whole house ventilation solutions to create comfortable and healthy indoor climates. Started in Switzerland in 1895, they supply a wide range of heat and cold recovery systems to eco-conscious homeowners.
Their Comfosystems range offers solutions for high performance, energy efficient homes. We were pleased to be chosen to create the marketing materials needed for a new audience in the UK.
